The Toyota Fortuner that belongs to Simaria MLA Kishun Das got hit by a truck while returning from Ranchi to Simaria. The incident happened in the early hours. There were four bodyguards in the car and a driver as well.
According to the report, an out-of-control truck hit the Toyota Fortuner from the rear at high-speed. The accident happened near Patel Chowk. The pictures show how MLA’s car got damaged in the accident. The vehicle looks severely damaged.
The pictures of the truck have also surfaced and even the truck looks severely damaged as well. According to the minister, there were six people inside the vehicle and no one is seriously injured.
Made in India Toyota Fortuner is yet to be tested by Global NCAP. However, the ASEAN N-CAP has awarded a 4-star rating to the Fortuner. It gets a very strong build quality and also gets a long list of active and passive safety features.
The top-end variant of the Fortuner comes with features like 7 airbags, ABS, EBD and more. But the Fortuner misses out on modern safety features including a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
2022 Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner was given a midlife makeover in 2021, which saw mild revisions to its exterior and interior design and the inclusion of new features like a bigger touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, wireless charger, LED headlamps, dynamic LED turn indicators, ambient lighting, 11-speaker JBL sound system, cooled glove box, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats and electric tailgate opening.
The Toyota Fortuner is available in two different powertrains, both of which get the options of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The 2.7-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque, whereas the 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine pumps out 204 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque (500 Nm in automatic variants). Both the engine options are available with rear-wheel drive as standard. However, the diesel-powered avatar is also available with an optional four-wheel-drive version. The Legender variant is exclusively available only in automatic variants.
