Last year, Porsche launched the Platinum Edition of the regular Cayenne. Now though, the company has extended that to their S models as well. The Cayenne S petrol and the S diesel will now be offered in the Platinum Edition trim level.
What is it?
This is basically a new variant which comes with additional features which were earlier on offer as options. So you now get a few blacked out exterior trim elements and body coloured wheel arches. The Cayenne now gets a set of 21″ rims as opposed to 18″ ones the normal S gets. Exterior colour options are jet black, white, silver and mahogany shades. On the inside, the car gets leather and Alcantara sports seats that are on offer on the Cayenne GTS. This one gets 8-way electronically adjustable seats with the Porsche logo embossed on the head rest. It will also get heated seats.
The door sill now gets the ‘Platinum Edition’ badging on it. Other standard equipment includes bi-xenon headlamps with Porsche dynamic light system, front and rear parking sensors, Porsche’s PCM touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and a Bose audio system.
The petrol S is priced at Rs 1.27 crores ex-showroom where as the diesel S is priced at Rs 1.31 crores, ex-showroom Maharashtra. While the normal S petrol costs Rs 1.09 crores, the normal S diesel costs Rs 1.24 crores, which means this is well loaded as compared to the normal model.
There are no changes to the technical specifications on the car. The S petrol comes with the 3.6 liter 6-cylinder engine making 414 Bhp and 550 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox with paddle shifters. The diesel on the other hand is powered by a 4.2 liter v8 that produces 382 Bhp and 850 Nm. This one is also mated to the 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
