The Bengaluru-based electric luxury car manufacturer, Pravaig Dynamics, has finally revealed the specifications for its upcoming rugged SUV, the Pravaig Interceptor, for the military. The company first showcased this bare-bones SUV alongside its flagship SUV Defy’s launch. However, at the time, it did not announce the specifications for this model. After months of anticipation, it has now finally revealed that this military SUV will be based on the Defy’s platform and will utilize the same powertrain and other mechanicals.
First off, as mentioned, this SUV will only be manufactured for the armed forces. No civilian customer will be allowed to buy the Pravaig Interceptor (which was previously named Veer). This military-specific SUV will also get an extensive wheelbase measuring in at 3030 mm. Lastly, its ground clearance will be 280 mm. These dimensions put this SUV in a unique slot if the Indian armed forces do decide to take on this vehicle in its fleet. At the moment, there are no reports that have stated whether the Indian Army has finalized this SUV for its use or not.
Meanwhile, for the interior side of things, the Pravaig Interceptor will come equipped with a minimalistic design. There will not be many physical buttons on the dashboard. It added that the layout will be very simple and utilitarian. The company also added that, just like the exterior, the company can also change the layout as per the requirements of the armed forces. The company added that apart from it, the SUV will also get a huge touchscreen display, a 360-degree camera, 12 ultrasonic sensors, adaptive LED headlights, and a 77GHz radar. Additionally, it will also come with a HEPA air filter and it will be powered by a MultiVAC computer system, making it ideal for military use.
In terms of the powertrain and battery specifications of the Pravaig Interceptor, the company has finally revealed that this new SUV will be based on the same platform as the Defy luxury SUV. The Interceptor will come equipped with dual 150 kW permanent magnet synchronous motors. As per the electric carmaker, this powertrain will be able to generate a maximum and very impressive figure of 403 bhp. It will also be able to generate an equally impressive torque figure of 620 Nm. This SUV will be able to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in a blistering 4.9 seconds. Additionally, it will have a top speed of around 210 kmph.
In addition to these already remarkable performance specifications, this SUV will come equipped with an AWD system as well. This SUV’s system will be able to quickly adjust torque based on driving conditions. Additionally, the car’s intelligent systems will be able to monitor wheel slips and other parameters to enhance the driving capabilities of this SUV.
Lastly, in terms of the heart of the Pravaig Interceptor EV SUV, it will come equipped with a massive battery pack that will have a capacity of 90.9 kWh. It will be a lithium-ion type battery and will offer a range of 500 km in a single charge. As per the company, this battery will include up to 5 modules and 5000 hard case cells.
