This modified, previous generation Mahindra Thar is a beast [Video]

Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular 4×4 SUVs in the market. The previous generation Thar was popular among off-road enthusiasts and we have seen several modified examples of the same online. In fact, finding a previous generation Mahindra Thar without any  modification is quite hard. One of the most common type of modification seen on previous generation Thar were aftermarket alloy wheels. Many of them modify their Thar to enhance the off-road capabilities while many did modifications to make it look more premium. Here we have a video of previous generation Thar that has been modified for hard core off-roading.

The video has been shared by Spark custom Garage on their YouTube channel. In this video, vlogger talks about all the modifications that are done to the SUV. He starts with the front. The stock front grille has been replaced with an aftermarket Jeep Wrangler grille. The halogen headlamps have also been replaced with aftermarket LED headlamps with ring type LED DRLs and turn indicators in it. Another set of LED turn indicators are placed below headlamps.

The stock bumper on this Thar has been removed and replaced with a metal off-road bumper. An electronic winch has also been installed on it. A set of LED fog lamps are installed in the bumper along with a pair of shackles. On the bonnet, a hi-lift jack has been installed and a snorkel can be seen as well. Coming to the side profile, the steels rims on Thar were replaced with 15 inch of-road rims and tyres. The whole SUV has been finished in Black and that gives it an imposing look. There are custom made rock sliders or foot steps to get in and out of the SUV.

The soft top on this Thar has been replaced with a custom made hard top. At the rear, there is a split tail gate and the spare wheel is mounted on the tail gate. The rear seats are accessed by opening the tailgate. There are auxiliary lamps mounted on the bonnet and the roof of the SUV. It also gets an LED aftermarket tail lamps installed in it. Moving in, the interiors on this SUV have also been customised. The stock seats at the front have been replaced with bucket seats and the roof liner has been redone in diamond pattern. The cabin remains mostly black and other that this, no major customisations have been done to this SUV. With all these modifications in place, the Thar looks aggressive from every angle.

Mahindra launched the all-new Thar in 2020 and it became popular among buyers almost immediately. The current generation Thar comes with several new features like a touchscreen infotainment system, roof mounted speakers, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, front facing seats for rear passengers, automatic transmission, company fitted hard top and so on. Mahindra Thar is now available with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both these engine are available with manual and automatic transmission option. 4×4 is offered as a standard feature in the all-new Thar.
