Various carmakers have announced that a revised price list will be in place from January 2016. Following Mercedes, BMW, and Toyota, Hyundai has also announced that there will be a hike next month.
Said to be up to Rs 30,000 over the current prices, the increase is, according to the company, due to the weakening rupee and a corresponding rise in input costs. It will be applicable across the range, while detailed prices will be out in January once the new pricing comes into effect.
The carmaker recently celebrated its 4 million domestic sales in India, right after its most successful month ever in October 2015 with an all-time high sales of 47,015 units. As for the hike in prices, the company had increased the prices of the Creta SUV by up to Rs 20,000 in October this year.
