Question of the day: Honda CR-V or Mitsubishi Outlander?

Tushar Bhople wants the community to help him decide whether he should opt for the Honda CR- or the Mitsubishi Outlander. Which vehicle do you think is the better SUV?

The base Honda CR-V 2WD which has a claimed mileage of 13 kmpl costs Rs. 22.65 lakh Ex-showroom Delhi while the top end Honda CR-V 4WD AT which has a claimed mileage of 11 kmpl costs Rs. 24.90 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

The Mitsubishi Outlander on the other hand is available only in one variant, the 2.4 MIVEC which has a claimed mileage of 10 kmpl and costs Rs. 20.25 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. It is evident that the Outlander is the cheaper option but the CR-V will give Tushar more options as far as variants are concerned.

Where the Outlander speeds ahead of the CR-V is in terms of features like a Rockford Fosgate audio system, selectable all wheel drive, a twin opening tail gate, projector headlamps etc. The CR-V on the other hand has more reliable service network compared to Mitsubishi.

If Tushar lives near a Mitsubishi service center and has no particular affiliation to Honda as a brand the Outlander does seems like a better bet. What car do you think Tushar should opt for? Leave your views in the comments section below!
