Feroz Khan Jaleel asked the community whether he should opt for the Hyundai i2o Magna diesel or the Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI. His primary concerns are mileage, maintenance cost and performance.
The Hyundai i20 Magna diesel will cost Feroz Rs. 6.20 lakh while the Maruti Suzuki Swift VDI will cost him Maruti Swift VDI Rs. 5.70 lakh. Now it is evident that the Swift is more affordable option while the i20 is Rs. 50,000 dearer.
The Swift is also better than the i20 in terms of mileage but only by a measly 1 kmpl. The Swift is also more of a driver’s car than the i20 and handles much better. The Swift has a 1248 cc, 4 cylinder engine that produces 74 bhp of power @ 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. The i20 on the other hand has a 1396 cc, 4 cylinder engine that produces 90 bhp of power @ 4000 rpm and
220 Nm of torque between 1750-2750 rpm.
In terms of looks and features, it’s a tie as both the cars are good looking and have their own set of admirers. The i20 however does look like a bigger car and also offers much more rear seat leg room than the Swift. What car would you suggest for Feroz? Share your views in the comments section below.
