Varun Kumar has asked the community which diesel car he should buy. He has a budget of Rs. 7.5 lakh and is considering the Hyundai i20 and the Ford Fiesta Classic CLXI.
Varun can consider the Hyundai i20 1.4 Asta CRDi which has a claimed mileage of 22 kmpl and costs Rs. 7.06 lakh in ex-showroom Delhi or the Ford Fiesta Classic 1.4 Duratorq CLXi which has a claimed mileage of 20 kmpl and costs Rs. 7 lakh.
The Fiesta has a 1,399 cc, 4 cylinder engine that produces 67 bhp of power at 4000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm. The Hyundai i20 on the other hand has a 1,396 cc, 4 cylinder engine that produces 90 bhp of power at 4000 rpm and 220 Nm of torque at 1750-2750 rpm.
So as far as power and performance is concerned the i20 has both more power and more torque. The Fiesta however is more spacious and has more boot space (430 litre) as against the i20 which only has a 295 litre boot.
The i20 1.4 Asta CRDi also has features like ABS, Airbags etc some of which the Fiesta CLXi won’t have. Moreover Hyundai’s service network is much more wide spread than Ford’s. What car would you suggest for Varun? Share your views in the comments section below!
