Question of the day: Which is the best petrol hatchback in Rs 6 lakh?

Binu Sooryachandran You will get the middle variant (Polo Comfortline) but mind the mileage will be <10kmpl. i20 Sportz will be 20K priced more and less handling comfort but better A.S.S from Hyundai

Amit ‘chris’ Kumar Kullu swift is better but wait for the new 2011 swift….chevy beat is also a good option

Saai Anjan go for polo its prestigious to own a VW

Harish Reddy as u r main criteria is FE first go 4 r i10 1.2 vtvt kappa2 sportz itz da best buy in petrol hatch n of course it has got even lookz to plz many n more over it handle lik awsme in it segment…:) my pal owns one n its giving 14-17kms in city n 19-20+ on highways

Vishal N.C. best for in-city use is the new i10 kappa2

Abhik Bhattacharya ?6 L Budget ? go for Fiat Punto FIRE Petrol, no contest in looks, great mileage, much more features than Polo, amazing handling, a true petrol hatch with ABS, EBD, Steering controls, fly by wire technology etc…..the list is too long to write. Who knows you might even save about 20-30 K for amplifier, woofer etc.

Dws Auto: Since you are looking for fuel economy, looks and handling, then the car that gives you this combination is the Maruti Swift ZXi, within your budget. It’s got the most power, with good fuel economy.

The second choice would be the Hyundai i20 Asta. Abhik has also suggested the Punto, but the variant to choose here is the 1.4 Emotion with the Safire engine, but mileage is only about 13 kmpl. Polo has good looks and handling, but the 1.2 isn’t too powerful.

Our choice: Go for the Swift ZXi. If you can wait a couple of months, you can pick the new Swift. If you can’t wait, then pick the i20.
