Renault has revealed various customization options for its next major launch for the Indian market – the Captur crossover. The premium vehicle will be positioned above the Duster and will be the most expensive Renault car to be on sale in India, when it launches on 6th November. Personalization options for the premium crossover will be similar to what Renault offers for the Kwid budget hatchback.
Renault will give customers the option to choose from 16 roof wraps, different ORVM covers and chrome add-ons for various exterior parts. The Captur will also be offered with two personalization packs Diamond Deck and Urban Connect. These packs have been pre-configured by Renault’s designers, and they include a roof decal, a body decal, an ORVM cover, leather smart card sleeve and interior floor mats.
Other personalization options for the new SUV will include dual tone paint schemes for the exterior body, seat covers and surrounds for air-conditioning vents and the centre console on the inside. The idea is to give customers the option of making his vehicle look and feel unique. Engine and gearbox options will be standard. Renault will offer petrol and diesel engine options. Both engines will get manual gearboxes.
We are sure that customers would have preferred to have automatic transmission options, something that the company may add after some time. Another feature that customers would like is an all wheel drive system. Since the Captur that will be sold in India is based on the Duster’s B-Zero platform, it will not be difficult for Renault to add these features in the future.
The Duster is offered with a CVT automatic gearbox for the petrol engine and a AMT for the diesel engine. An all wheel drive system is also offered on the Duster as an option. In terms of pricing, the Captur will be a competitor of the Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500. Prices are expected to start from around Rs. 12 lakhs.
