Renault has finally pulled up its socks and is preparing for an aggressive assault on the auto market on India in multiple segments. The French manufacturer has long been silent in the market but that’s set to change now. With 5 new proposed vehicles in different segments under Rs. 15 lakh price segment, the company looks to increase its market share which has went down since some time now. Here are the 5 upcoming vehicles by Renault that will be launched in the coming time.
Kwid Facelift
Expected launch by: Q3 2019

The Renault Kwid is currently the best selling car of the company and has been the saving grace for the manufacturer. However, its sales too have dwindled due to increased market competition. for the same, Renault will launch a new facelifted version of the Kwid that will look quite similar to the one pictured above. The engine and transmission of the hatchback will remain the same but the exteriors and the interiors will get multiple tweaks to enhance its aesthetic appeal. Sharper headlamps with DRLs, updated bumper with new fog lamp housing, refreshed tail lamps and some new body panels are expected on the outside while inside the company may equip it with a larger infotainment system.
Kwid EV
Expected launch by: 2021
Renault will kickstart its EV journey in India with the Kwid EV, that has been in news for long. The details about the powertrain of the car are not yet known but it is likely to have a range of about 250 km. The Kwid EV will get full LED headlamps and a redesigned bumper, though most of the body design will be similar to the regular Kwid hatchback. The car will be developed for the Chinese market and will later enter the Indian market if there is a demand. The Kwid EV was recently showcased at the Shanghai motor show under the name of K-ZE. The launch of the Kwid EV, however, is still some time away.
Triber
Expected launch by: Q2-Q3 2019

Among the most talked about Renault vehicle in recent times is the Triber MPV. It was previously known as the RBC or simply Kwid based MPV (which it actually is). The company recently released a teaser of the Triber and we expect the launching to be done by the second or third quarter of this year. It will chiefly rival the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and is expected to be priced a little lower than it. On the inside, it will come with a newly designed two-tone dashboard with a large centre touchscreen display for infotainment. The engine options are likely to be shared with Kwid, albeit here they will work in a higher state of tune. The Triber will also get a segment-first removable third-row seat.
HBC
Expected launch by: 2020
The HBC is the latest reveal by the company and will be a sub-4 meter SUV. Upon being launched, it will take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the upcoming Hyundai Venue among others. The sub-4 meter SUV segment has become one of the most hotly contested segment in the market with almost all major manufacturers having their vehicle in the segment or planning to do so. It will be based on the CMF-A platform that underpins multiple Renault-Nissan cars. As for the engines, it would probably use the Kwid’s 1.0 litre petrol motor as well as the 1.5 litre diesel mill used on bigger Renault vehicles.
Duster facelift
Expected launch by: Q3 2019
Finishing the list is the Duster facelift which has been spied multiple times till now. Contrary to the earlier rumours that said Renault will bring the new generation Duster to India, the company will instead launch a facelifted version here for now. It will get slight tweaks on the exteriors as well as interiors to freshen up its appeal. The headlamps will come with LED DRL and the bonnet will be raised for pedestrian safety in case of an accident. Few other enhancements include new roof rails, new alloy wheels, updated tail lamps and slightly updated body panels among others. A sunroof and a new infotainment system might also be available on the facelift.
