Renault India has launched a new variant of the Duster SUV equipped with the Adventure kit. The new variant is available in RxE trim and features a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine in 84 Bhp-200 Nm state of tune. A five speed manual gearbox powers the front wheels of the diesel powered SUV’s new variant. The Duster Adventure 85 PS variant is meant for buyers who find the Duster Adventure 110 PS too expensive for their tastes.
The new Adventure variant of the Duster in 85 PS Diesel guise is priced at 9.16 lakh rupees, which represents a 55,000 rupee premium over the RxE variant of the 85 PS Duster Diesel. Also, the new variant is over 2.7 lakh rupees cheaper than the 110 PS Adventure Edition of the SUV, which is priced at 11.79 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi.
The Adventure Edition pack on the Duster 85 PS adds the following kit:
- Smoked headlamps
- Bumper guard with foglamps
- Cladding on flanks and wheel arches
- White paint finish for wing mirrors and door handles
- Alloy Wheels in gunmetal gray
- Seat fabric and floor mats with Duster emblazoned on them
- Lime green highlights on seats, door trim and floor mats
The Duster’s Adventure Edition was showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The SUV is Renault India’s best selling product and is also available with a 1.6 liter petrol engine. The SUV is a five seater that measures over 4 meters in length. Since Renault hasn’t bothered to chop the Duster’s length to under 4 meters to gain excise benefits, the Duster features a capacious boot.
While the current variants of the Duster sold in India are a front wheel driven, a four wheel drive system equipped top-end variant will be launched by the end of this year. Renault India currently exports the Duster 4X4 to international markets. The 4X4 variant of the Duster will be priced above the current top-end 110 PS RxZ variant and will feature the 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine in 108 Bhp-248 Nm state of tune. A 6 speed manual gearbox will be standard on the Duster 4X4.
