Renault India has unveiled the facelifted version of the Duster compact SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Duster Facelift brings in both cosmetic and mechanical changes. First, the cosmetics. Up front, new headlamps, a revised grille, new bumper insert and fog lamp make for the changes. The alloy wheels are new and so are the roof rails and wing mirrors that get integrated turn indicators. At the rear, the facelifted SUV gets LED tail lamps. The vehicle gets an new paint scheme – Cayenne Orange.
Moving into the vehicle, the MediaNav infotainment unit has been revised with the reverse parking layout getting new guide lines, while the dual-tone dashboard has gone soft touch. The center console has been refreshed and Renault says that the automatic climate control is new as well. Under the hood, the 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine is retained while the engine compartment is now tweaked to a newer standard. The same is the case with the wiring of the vehicle, which now follows the T4 E&E standard.
The biggest mechanical change on the Duster is the addition of a 6 speed automated manual transmission option to the 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine in 108 Bhp-248 Nm state of tune. This key change apart, the SUV retains the power and torque outputs of the diesel engine (available in 2 states of tune) and the petrol engine. 5 speed and 6 speed manual gearboxes that were offered on the petrol and diesel engines continue on the facelifted model as well. The new Duster will soon be launched, and the price announcement will happen on the day of the launch.
