French automaker Renault has given its best selling vehicle in India, the Duster SUV mild tweaks. The RxL Plus and Option packs of the 85 PS Duster Diesel variant get a host of changes on the interiors. The steering wheel is borrowed from the Duster AWD. The steering column gains audio controls while the instrumentation cluster is revised with chrome rings and a white back light.
The seat fabric and door inserts have been revised while a piano black finish makes it to the center console and the door handles. The dashboard now gets a black and beige treatment. In terms of other improvements, sound deadening seems to have gotten a fillip, what with new material on the firewall behind the engine and on the underside of the bonnet. However, the engine cover has been dispensed with. The doors get new beadings to make the cabin quieter.

Other than these changes, the 85 PS variant of the Duster remains unchanged in terms of mechanicals. The SUV features a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder K9K turbo diesel motor that is rated at 84 Bhp and 200 Nm. A five speed manual gearbox handles torque transmission to the front wheels of the compact SUV.
The Duster SUV is also sold with a 1.6 liter petrol engine and a 1.5 liter K9K turbo diesel engine in a higher state of tune (1-08 Bhp-248 Nm). While the petrol motor makes do with a 5 speed manual gearbox, the higher powered diesel motor gets a 6 speed manual gearbox.
The higher powered turbo diesel motor is also available with an all wheel drive system that gains traction control, ESP and hill hold assist. The all wheel drive equipped Duster in RxZ trim also offers cruise control and a speed limiter. The Duster AWD comes with revised gear ratios for the first and second cogs to favour off roading.
