Renault will launch the all-new Kaptur later this year. They have started having customer clinics for this. Sources close to us attended the clinic that was held in Noida (NCR) and shared the following information about the vehicle.
Details:
Unlike previous reports that the Kaptur would be a 7 seater, it has now been revealed that the vehicle will be a 5 seater only. The vehicle will get keyless entry and the top end variant will most likely get keyless go as well. Like the Duster, the Kaptur will too have a fixed armrest without any storage bin below it. The car will have LED DRLs as well as LED foglamps. The car shown was shod with 17″ tyres which are 215/60/R17. This is larger than what is offered by the other vehicles. It will have 215 mm ground clearance, which means it will sit higher than the Duster. The inside cabin has white LED lighting and the glovebox is cooled. While the rear seats will be foldable, they will not have the 60:40 split, which is surprising. The top of the line variant will offer cruise control and Eco mode, as well as a speed limiter option. While part of the instrument cluster is new, the fuel gauge is the same one that is on offer on the Duster.
The vehicle has same sound proofing as that on the Duster and will be on offer with a 6-speed manual transmission. Engine details are still not clear but we do expect either the same 1.5 liter K9K unit to be offered or a new 1.6 liter unit.
The most important thing is that the pricing of the top of the line model will be close to Rs 15-16 lakh, which means it will sit just above the Creta.
We shall bring you more on this car closer to the launch.
