Renault India recently launched their all-new product Kiger in the Indian market. Kiger is a sub-4 meter compact SUV that competes with cars like Nissan Magnite, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the segment. It is currently the most affordable sub-4 meter compact SUV that one can buy in India. Price for Renault Kiger start at Rs 5.45 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 9.55 lakh, ex-showroom. Here we have a render video that shows how Kiger would look like, if Renault were to launch an adventure edition of the same.
The video has been uploaded by SRK Designs on their YouTube channel. The video starts with the regular Renault Kiger. It shows all the changes that are made to the Kiger to make it look like an Adventure Edition Kiger. This is purely a product of artist’s imagination and Renault has no plans of launching such a version of Kiger in the market.
The artist starts with the wheels. The stock 16 inch dual tone alloy wheels on the Kiger were replaced with chunky looking off-road tyres with blacked out alloy wheels. Next he installs a roof luggage carrier. The carrier is actually mounted on the roof rails which is actually functional in Renault Kiger. Moving to the front, render artist then creates a silver colour skid plate on the lower part of the bumper. Renault Kiger misses it on the stock version. There is a metal off-road bumper installed at the front as well.
The silver coloured cladding is also seen on the side of the car. All the chrome elements or inserts on the Kiger have been blacked out in the Adventure Edition. The Renault logo and the chrome garnishes around it including the one inside the headlamps have been blacked out. An LED light bar is also installed on the bumper of Kiger Adventure Edition. Artist has also installed a exoskeleton on the Kiger to protect the occupants in case of a rollover. Other than this, Kiger gets a grey paint job with black wrap on the bonnet.
Overall look of the compact SUV has been enhanced in this render video. it now looks a lot more rugged with all these accessories or modifications in place. Renault Kiger is not an off-road friendly vehicle. It is a city SUV that can handle bad patches of road. Renault Kiger is based on CMF-A+ platform. It is the same that we have seen in Renault Kwid and Triber. Nissan Magnite is also based on the same platform.
Renault Kiger offers features like floating touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly, multi-function steering wheel, fully digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, automatic climate control and lots of cubby holes. Renault Kiger is available with two petrol engine options only. There is a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.0 litre turbocharged engine. The naturally aspirated unit generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of torque whereas the turbocharged version generates 100 Ps and 160 Nmof peak torque. The 1.0 litre naturally aspirated engine comes with manual and AMT gearbox options. The 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine comes with manual and CVT gearbox option.
