Renault unveiled their upcoming compact SUV Kiger a few weeks ago. It is a sub-4 meter compact SUV that competes with cars like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and recently launched Nissan Magnite in the segment. When launched, Renault Kiger is going to be the most affordable sub-4 meter SUV in the segment. Renault has already started the mass production of Kiger and it has already started reaching dealerships. Renault will be officially launching the Kiger SUV in the market on 15th of February 2021. Before launch, Renault has now released a new TVC that shows how the cabin of the upcoming SUV looks like and what all features does it offer.
The video has been uploaded by Renault India on their official Youtube channel. The video is all about the cabin of the all new Renault Kiger. The interior of Kiger is actually similar to the Triber MPV that Renault has. It gets an all-black cabin with a silver finished strip running horizontally across the dashboard. On the dashboard the main attraction is the floating style touchscreen infotainment screen which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On the right hand side is the three spoke steering wheel with all the controls for the instrument cluster and the infotainment screen mounted on it.

The instrument cluster is a fully digital unit that shows multiple information. On the center console there is a small place to put your phone. Renault Kiger also offers wireless charging and it also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Push button start is placed on the center console and rotary buttons for the Air-conditioning is also seen here. Renault claims that Kiger will offer best in class knee room and cabin storage volume. Kiger also offers a rear AC vents and premium audio system from Arkamys.
Kiger from outside is actually a combination of Kwid, Triber and Nissan Magnite. At the front, it gets Triber like grille which extend and meet Kwid like LED DRLs on both ends. The turn indicator is also integrated under the DRL. The bumper look muscular and this gives it an SUV like look. The headlamps are different and get ice cube shape design to it. There is thick cladding all around the car to give it that rugged SUV type look.
Moving to the side profile, Kiger gets sporty looking 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. Dual tone colour options are available with the Kiger. The roof rails are functional and at the rear, it gets a split roof mounted spoiler for added sportiness. The boot gets a Renault logo and Kiger badging is also seen here. Kiger gets ‘C’ shaped split tail lamps and the bumper gets boomerang shaped reflectors on it. Lower part of the bumper gets a silver finish and is designed to look like a skid plate.
Renault Kiger comes with two petrol engine options. There is a 1.0, three cylinder engine in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. The naturally aspirated version generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of torque and comes with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox option. The 1.0 turbo version generates 100 Ps and 160 Nm of torque and comes with 5-speed manual CVT gearbox option.
