As we know that the Renault will be unveiling the Kiger on the 28th of January. The sub-compact SUV was first showcased in its concept form in November 2020. Now, Renault has released a new teaser of the Kiger ahead of its launch. The teaser showcases the production-spec Kiger in dark from the front with its headlights on. We get an idea of how the new compact-SUV during the night time.
We can see the straight strip LED Daytime Running Lamps with a slight kink at the end. The three LED projector units have been placed in the lower half of the front bumper. This gives the vehicle a split headlamp design, the projectors look like they are in the shape of an ice cube. We assume that one projector will be for the high beam, one for the low beam and the third one can be the fog lamp and the cornering light. The compact-SUV does look like a bigger version of the Renault Kwid which has been a huge success for the manufacturer.
The Kiger will be underpinned by CMF-A+ platform which also underpinned the Nissan Magnite and the Nissan Triber. Kiger will also borrow some of the equipment and engine options from the Magnite. The compact-SUV will retain its 80 percent design language as per the concept which is a good thing because it has happened a lot of times that the production-spec vehicle is disappointing as compared to its concept. It is good that Renault has thought of this and decided to retain the styling. Having said that the concept was finished in Aurora Borealis paint job which will not make its way to the production vehicle. The side profile will get plastic cladding for a rugged look. At the rear, there will be C-shaped LED tail lamps. The SUV will also get a roof rack as an official accessory that will be functional.
