French car company Renault has announced that prices of the Kwid hatchback, Duster SUV and Lodgy MPV will be hiked from January 2018. So, if you want to buy any of these Renault cars, the best time to buy one would be now as that will allow you to skip the price hike. The prices of these cars will be increased by up to 3 %. this means that the maximum price hike will be about Rs. 40,000 (on the Duster), while the lower priced Kwid’s prices will go up by Rs. 6,000. However, there will be no price hike on the recently launched Captur SUV.
To make its cars more attractive in the month of December, Renault is also offering a good discounts on the Kwid, Lodgy and Duster. The Duster leads the pack of December discounts with over 1.5 lakhs off on the Diesel AMT variant. The Lodgy also gets a hefty 60,000 rupees discount while the Kwid gets discounts of up to Rs. 50,000 in the form of a 10,000 rupee cash discount and a loan offer at a low 7.99 % interest rate. If Renault dealers have leftover stock of 2017 built cars in 2018, there is a good possibility that these discounts will be available in January as well.
Renault will introduce a brand new car next year, based on the Kwid. It will be a 7 seat compact SUV, similar to the Datsun Go+. Renault is expected to showcase this MPV at the 2018 Indian Auto Expo. The MPV is code-named RBC, and is based on the CMF-A+ platform. The CMF-A+ platform is a stretched platform of the Kwid, meant to accommodate longer cars. However, the RBC MPV is expected to be slightly shorter than 4 meters, allowing it to gain excise duty benefits offered on compact cars by the Indian government. In future, the CMF-A+ platform will also see the launch of a sub-4 meter compact sedan.
