Renault Triber AMT launch date & variant details revealed

French car manufacturer Renault launched the sub-4 meter, Triber compact MPV in the Indian market last year. The car became quite popular and was doing good in terms of sales before the COVID-19 lockdown struck. One key feature missing in the MPV since its launch was the an automatic transmission. Renault unveiled the AMT version of the Triber MPV at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The French automaker is now all set to launch the updated, AMT version of Triber in the Indian market on the 18th of May, 2020. The launch is expected without much fanfare given the COVID-19 lockdown, and will happen digitally.

Renault had showcased, AMT version of Triber at the Auto Expo and clearly, there are no changes on the outside in terms of design. The Triber is the cheapest MPV one can buy in the country. It is a proper MPV that can seat up to 7 people in it, and is best known for its modular seating that allows for great versatility. The car is based on CMF-A platform which is the same seen in other Renault vehicles like the Kwid hatchback.

The Triber is good looking MPV with an attractive design both on the outside and inside. On the inside, the compact MPV gets features like touchscreen infotainment system, push button start and so on. One of the major attraction in Triber was the flexible third row seats that can be completely taken out from the car in case you need more space for the luggage.

Renault Triber AMT launch date & variant details revealed

Renault Triber was available with a single engine option only. The upcoming automatic version will also be getting the same set of engine with a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Triber is powered by a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that is now BS6 compliant. The engine is capable of generating a maximum of 71 Bhp and 96 nm of torque. The AMT version of the car is also likely to produce similar amount of power. Price for Triber AMT is also expected to be announced on 18 May itself.

Renault is working on a more powerful version of Triber which will be powered by a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine. Renault is also working on a sub-4 meter compact SUV based on the same CMF-A platform and is likely to be powered by the same 1.0 litre turbocharged engine. The compact SUV will be launched in India by the end of 2020.
