Renault Triber MPV unveiled in India: Launching soon

Renault has unveiled the all-new Triber in India. It is a sub-4m low cost MPV unlike the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Mahindra Marazzo. The Triber is likely to be priced close to the Rs. 5 lakh mark. In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is priced at Rs 7.45 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and Mahindra Marazzo is priced at Rs 10.17 lakh, ex-showroom. It should be noted that Mahindra Marazzo only offers a Diesel engine in the Indian market while the Renault Triber and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are available with petrol engine options. The Ertiga is the only car among the thre to offer both petrol and diesel engine options.

The Renault Triber is based on a modified version of the CMF-A platform that also underpins the Renault Kwid in the Indian market. The car can seat up to 7-people and is the most affordable seven-seater from the manufacturer. The Triber looks quite good with crossover-inspired body design. It gets deep creases on the bonnet and the body and looks quite good.

The Renault Triber is globally revealed in India and has been designed and engineered according to the Indian condition. It is the same way the Renault Kwid was launched in India and then launched in the Latin-American markets and other international markets. The Triber gets a soothing design with a kink on the window line. Renault claims that the Triber is as wide as the other MPVs from the higher segments and offers a sliding and folding second-row seat.

It gets a removable third-seating option that is independently movable and can be removed too. After removing the last row, the Triber offers a massive 625-litres of space. The third-row of Renault Triber also offers armrests and charging points, which makes it very useful for the passengers travelling in the last row of seat.

On the inside, the dashboard looks quite good with knobs to control various features. It gets an all-digital instrument cluster, central air conditioning system, touchscreen infotainment system and more. The Triber also gets class-leading headroom and boot space without the third-row in place.

Renault has not given out the exact specifications of the engines. However, it will get the latest 1.0-litre petrol engine that is already available in Renault’s global models.

The engine produces a maximum of 72 PS and 96 Nm . Renault also has not talked about the transmission options that will be launched with the car in the Indian market but it will get the EASY-R AMT automatic transmission as an optional unit.

The all-new Triber will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months. It is expected to get an aggressive price tag and will undercut the likes of the Ertiga and Marazzo with a huge price difference. Renault will start taking the bookings for the Triber officially soon.
