ReVolt electric motorcycle revealed: Launch in July & bookings to open on 25th June

Revolt will soon launch its first-ever motorcycle in the Indian market. The brand has officially showcased its product today and the pre-bookings will start on 25th of this month on Amazon. Known as RV400, it will launch in the coming months. However, the price of the bike has also not been revealed.

The Revolt RV400 is an all-electric product that will be launched targetted at the mass segment buyers. The Revolt RV400 is an Artificial Intelligence enabled bike that will come with an embedded 4G LTE sim card.  The RV400 is a naked streetfighter that comes with a single piece seat. For the pillion, there is a stepped-up portion that allows a clear view to the rider.

The bike comes with an upside down front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear. The bike comes with a flat handlebar and the footpegs are positioned in a way to offer a relaxed riding position. The bike also gets radially-mounted brake callipers on the eight-spoke wheels. It also gets ABS system as standard. The bike uses a lithium-ion battery pack that is good for a minimum of 156 km of range according to the ARAI tests. The bike can do 85 km/h of maximum speed. The connected technology in the Revolt allows quite a few features like remote diagnostics, geo-fencing, door-step battery delivery, cloud services and over-the-air updates.

The battery can be charged in four ways according to the company. It can be directly plugged into a wall plug or the battery can be taken out to get it charged. Also, the manufacturer will open small kiosks all over the cities where the batteries can be swapped for a full-charged battery. Also, one can call and get the battery delivered to the location. All the features are controlled through a mobile app. The bike is connected to the phone through the Bluetooth and various features including the artificial sound of the bike can be changed through it directly.

Revolt Motors have developed important parts like ECU and Battery Management System in-house. The battery packs and the electric motor are imported. The bike also gets a data-collection feature that analyses the way a person drives. Revolt claims that the insurance premium for the bike will depend on the data and people with higher scores will be able to pay a lower insurance amount. When launched, the Revolt RV400 is expected to get a price tag of around Rs 1.5 lakh.

The bikes will be manufactured at the Manesar facility of the brand, which can produce as many as 1.2 lakh units per year. Initially, the bikes will be launched in the major cities like Chennai, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, NCR, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad in the next four months. Later, the bike will be launched in other locations.
