Pay Rs 17,000 for this Limited Edition Suzuki Ritz
The Ritz Genus is a limited edition variant to celebrate one year of the Ritz in India
India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, has launched a limited edition Ritz. This special edition has been launched to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the Ritz in India. Only 5000 units of the genus would be sold.
The Ritz Genus is priced at Rs 4,52,349 ex-showroom, Delhi for the Ritz Genus Vxi (petrol) and Rs 5,31,410 for the Ritz Genus Vdi (diesel). The Genus retains all Ritz attributes, but has a few more features and gadgets thrown in. You get tiltable steering, key-less entry, and a built-in MP3-player-radio-music system. The Genus would be available in a special shade of blue which Maruti calls Emerald Blue. Body-colored door handles and wing mirrors on the Genus are standard.
Other additional features include a dash of special body graphics all around the body panels. Inside, decals remain the same. Dual-tone dashboard and the use of mix of blue and grey colors brighten up the cabin. You get a rear wiper and rear defogger. A neat little rear parcel tray completes the feature list.
The Ritz Genus would be available in only the VXi versions of Petrol and Diesel variants.
Speaking at the launch Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing) said that the Limited Editions are Maruti – Suzuki’s way to bring excitement to the showrooms and the company has had excellent experience with Limited editions in the past. While they bring in incremental sales numbers, at the same time customer response to these special models have helped Maruti Suzuki for future product development and planning.
Maruti Suzuki have been known to launch Special Edition versions for some time now. The M800, Zen, Esteem, Wagon R Estilo all had an special Editions in the past. Recently Maruti Suzuki also launched the SX4 with in a special edition called ‘Royale’.
To refresh your memory, the Maruti Suzuki Ritz was launched last year in both petrol and diesel options and has sold rather well since its launch. It uses the same powerplant as that of the very successful Swift. The engine on the petrol Ritz is 1.2litre 85 PS unit while the diesel Ritz is powered by an 1.2 DDIS Diesel engine that produces 75 PS of power.
