Road rage incidents have become increasingly common on Indian roads compared to the past. Such occurrences have now become routine in many metropolitan cities. We have previously highlighted such events on our website, and we now present an incident from Chandigarh involving three women who engaged in a fight in the middle of the road after one of their cars collided with the other.

The entire altercation was captured on video and has since gone viral on the internet. The video was actually recorded by a cab driver who was transporting two female passengers on August 20, 2023. The incident took place in Sector 34 of Chandigarh.

A woman driving a Volkswagen Polo hatchback approached from the wrong side of the road. Despite numerous pleas for her to cease driving on the wrong side, she persisted. Eventually, her car came into contact with the cab carrying the two women.

Tempers flared, and the passengers in the cab began to argue with the woman in the Volkswagen Polo. The situation quickly escalated from a verbal exchange to a physical altercation. The woman driving the Polo began assaulting the two female passengers in the cab. The cab driver can be heard saying in the video that the Polo driver was at fault for crashing into their vehicle. The Polo driver proceeded to physically attack the elderly woman in the cab, resorting to hitting and kicking. All of this unfolded in the middle of the road, with their vehicles parked on the side.

After the woman finished her assault, she was observed damaging the recording driver’s phone. The cab driver had already contacted the police when the fight erupted and was capturing the entire incident on video. The footage also reveals the woman attempting to flee the scene after the altercation. Nevertheless, the police managed to locate her and took her into custody.

Toward the end of the video, all three women can be seen standing outside the police station in Sector 34 of Chandigarh. The woman who was driving the Polo is shown apologizing for her behavior. According to reports, the matter was resolved after both parties reached an agreement. However, it remains uncertain whether the police took action against the Polo driver for driving on the wrong side of the road.

Road rage incidents can rapidly escalate into ugly confrontations, as illustrated by this case. Another recent incident occurred in Kerala’s Kodungallur, where a confrontation between youths from two vehicles quickly turned violent, resulting in one individual using a stone to shatter the windows of a Maruti Suzuki Ritz.

Should you ever find yourself in such a situation, it’s advisable to avoid any form of communication that could worsen the situation. If circumstances deteriorate, promptly call the police for assistance. Refrain from engaging in physical altercations and strive to adhere to traffic regulations and speed limits to prevent inconvenience to others.
