Rolls Royces of India's rich & famous on VIDEO: Sanjay Dutt to Anant Ambani

Rolls Royce cars are easily the most revered and even the most enviable cars money can buy. Until a few decades ago, Rolls Royce cars were the vehicles of choice of the royalty in our country. The British luxury car marque is now owned by the BMW Group and is officially present in India. Many of the rich and famous personalities of our country have bought a Rolls Royce car in the last decade or so. Anant Ambani

Well, being the son of the country’s richest person has its own privileges, no? Anant Ambani, the youngest child of Mukesh Ambani, owns one of the most expensive cars sold in the country, i.e., the Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead coupe. The drophead coupe costs Rs 9.62 crore, which is a crore lesser than what the recently launched Phantom VIII costs. Of course, there are several optional extras that can take the price even higher. The drophead coupe is powered by a huge 6.75-litre V12 engine that outputs a maximum power of 454 bhp along with a peak torque of 720 Nm. While this car isn’t meant for traffic light GPS, it can still dismiss 100 kmph from standstill in just 5.8 seconds.

Hrithik Roshan

Famous Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan gifted himself a Rolls Royce on his 42nd birthday. Hrithik’s roller is a Ghost Series II sedan that costs Rs 5.37 crore (ex-showroom) without opting for any of the optional extras. The actor is said to have paid Rs 7 crore for his car, which means it comes with a host of optional features. Hrithik has been spotted driving around in his prized possession on quite a few occasions. Powering the Ghost Series II is a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine that outputs 563 bhp and 780 Nm. The car weighs 2,490 KGs but isn’t a slouch by any means. It can sprint to 100 kmph from standstill in only 4.9 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan is easily the most popular star from Bollywood. He owns a long list of cars, which includes a Bentley and a Mercedes. However, the most notable car in his garage is the Rolls Royce Phantom Series VII. It’s said that this Phantom was gifted to Mr Bachchan by the famous film director Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Priyanka Chopra is the only Bollywood actress who owns a Rolls Royce car. Piggy Chops, as she is fondly called, owns a Rolls Royce Ghost that is said to have cost her Rs 4.5 crore.
