Indian motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield has launched the Classic 350 Signals Edition in India. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition is priced at Rs. 1,61,934 ex-showroom, Pune.
The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition celebrates the bikemaker’s association with the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals. This is also the first time Royal Enfield has offered ABS as standard in its line-up of retro motorcycles.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 Signals Edition comes with cosmetic changes to help differentiate it from the regular Classic 350. All the chrome bits on the Classic 350 including the headlamp bezel, handlebar, engine, crankcase cover, exhaust muffler and the spoked wheels are all blacked out on the Signals Edition. The new motorcycle is available in two colour options – Airborne Blue and Storm Rider Sand both of which gel well with the tan-coloured single seat offered with the new Signals Edition of the Classic 350. The fuel tank features stencilled numbering for each of the bikes sold along with the logo of the Army Corps of Signals.
The Royal Enfield Signals Edition remains unchanged in terms of powertrain compared to the regular Classic 350. The new Enfield Signals Edition uses the same 346-cc Unit Construction Engine that produces 19.7 bhp at 5,250rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
In terms of the suspension set-up, the Signals Edition features 34 mm forks up front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear to help it negotiate the rough roads of India. Braking duties meanwhile are handled by a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. The brakes are now assisted by ABS.
The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 Special Edition will be sold exclusively through the company’s website and booking for the same has already begun. Sales of the all-new Classic 350 Signals Edition are expected to commence next month. In the next few months, all other Royal Enfield motorcycles will get ABS as standard.
