Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus sold out in 3 minutes!

Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus is the first ever motorcycle from the brand that has been put on a flash sale. After the server of the manufacturer crashed on the original sale date earlier this month due to the extreme popularity of the bike, Royal Enfield held the online sale again today and the bike was sold out in just 178 seconds after going online.

Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus is the limited edition model from the brand that is a tribute to the Flying Flea motorcycle. The Flying Flea are specially made motorcycles made by Royal Enfield and was used by the British paratroopers during the World War II. The bikes were extremely lightweight and were airdropped by the British troopers at strategic locations that gave them an advantage over the enemy. However, the Pegasus edition is not lightweight. It stays exactly the same as the regular Classic 500 except for a few visual changes.

The Pegasus edition is limited to 1,000 units worldwide and the Indian market gets the biggest share of 250 units. The sale started at 4:00 PM and ended within a few minutes. The Royal Enfield Pegasus is available in two different colours in the international markets. There is a Service Brown Colour and an Olive Dab colour. The olive colour is banned in India for the civilians as it used by the Army. Only the service brown colour is available in the Indian market. Both the colours represent the original colour of the Flying Flea.

Apart from the special colour, all the bikes get unique stencilled serial numbers on the fuel tank that makes every bike unique. The Classic Pegasus edition also gets a leather strap with a brass buckle across the air filter, blacked-out silencer and brims and brown handlebar grips and headlight bezel.

The bikes will remain identical mechanically. The bikes will be powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled 499cc engine that churns out a maximum power of 27.2 Bhp at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm at 4,000 rpm. All other features like the chassis, brakes handlebar and other features stay similar to the regular model. It is not known when the deliveries of the bikes will start but it is expected to start soon.
