It is no secret that India’s popular motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is currently working on new models. Some of these models have already been spotted testing on our roads already. Royal Enfield is now planning to expand its product portfolio and the upcoming products are part of it. Last year, Royal Enfield launched their next-generation Classic 350 in the market. A year before that, they introduced Meteor 350. In 2022, Royal Enfield is likely to launch more models. Here we have a list 4 new motorcycles that Royal Enfield is likely to launch in 2022.
Royal Enfield Scram 411 is actually a bit more road focused version of their popular adventure tourer Himalayan. The overall design of the Scram 411 is similar to Himalayan but, it is likely to get smaller wheels than Himalayan. The engine and suspension set up on the motorcycle is likely to be the same as Himalayan.
The motorcycle will get a different front fascia and graphics too. The Scram 411 has been spotted testing several times and according to several reports, Royal Enfield is likely to launch the motorcycle some time in February. It is likely to compete with recently launched Yezdi Scrambler in the market.
Super Meteor 650
Next motorcycle from Royal Enfield that is currently being tested extensively is a 650-cc cruiser motorcycle. This 650-cc cruiser is based on the manufacturers famous 650-cc platform. When launched, Super Meteor 650 will be offered as a premium model above the Interceptor 650. The Super Meteor has been spotted testing several times on our roads.
It will be powered by the same 648-cc, twin cylinder engine that generates 47 Bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine as Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The motorcycle would come with twin exhaust setup and is expected to be launched by April this year.
Royal Enfield is also working on a 350-cc roadster motorcycle. It is currently called as the Hunter but, the name of the motorcycle might change when it hits the production line. When launched J1C1 or the Hunter will be the most affordable motorcycle from Royal Enfield.
The Hunter is will be based on Royal Enfield’s new J platform which is already used in Meteor 350 and Classic 350. Royal Enfield will also be introducing a premium versions of the Hunter motorcycle with minor changes in the market. The Royal Enfield Hunter is expected to be launched by mid-2022.
We mentioned Super Meteor 650 above. It is a cruiser motorcycle but, the Shotgun 650 is actually a single seater bobber. The concept of this motorcycle named SG650 was showcased at EICMA 2021. This motorcycle would also use a twin cylinder engine as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Royal Enfield is expected to launch Shotgun 650 in the market later this year.
Other than these four motorcycles, Royal Enfield is also working on a new Bullet and Bullet ES based on their new J platform. A bobber-style 350-cc motorcycle based on the Classic 350 is likely to be launched as well. With the revised engine and new platforms, Royal Enfield motorcycles have become a lot more refined and the same is expected from the upcoming motorcycles too.
