Ford India is offering a discount of Rs. 75,000 on the Fiesta Classic SXI (top-end) petrol variant bringing its price down to Rs. 6.55 lakh from Rs. 7.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The offer is for a limited period only.
However, there is no discount being offered on the Fiesta Classic diesel. Let’s take a closer look to see if the discounts being offered make the Fiesta Classic SXI better ‘value for money’ than its rivals.
Fiesta Classic SXI vs Toyota Etios V
The Fiesta Classic SXI with the offer price of Rs. 6.55 lakh is priced similar to the Toyota Etios V variant (Rs. 6.51 lakh). Both the Fiesta Classic SXI and Toyota Etios V get features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, music system and alloy wheels.
However, the Fiesta Classic SXI gets distance to empty display, fuel cut-off inertia switch, driver seat height adjust, headlamp-on warning, rear fog lamps and electric mirrors. The interiors of the Fiesta Classic also feel more premium than the Etios. These features are not available in the Etios V variant. Summing up, features-wise, the Fiesta Classic SXI is slightly more ‘value for money’ than the Etios V.
If you are interested in performance, the Fiesta SXI with its 100 bhp, 1.6-litre engine is far more fun to drive than the Etios, which develops 90 bhp from its 1.5 litre engine. Clearly, this gives the Fiesta SXI an edge.
Fiesta Classic SXI vs Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXI
The Fiesta Classic SXI with the offer price of Rs. 6.55 lakh is Rs. 16,000 more than the price of the Maruti Dzire ZXI priced at Rs. 6.39 lakh. Both cars get safety features such as dual front airbags and ABS with EBD. The Fiesta Classic SXI gets features such as six speakers for the 2-DIN audio system (Dzire gets four speakers), distance to empty display and electric mirrors, which are absent in Dzire ZXI.
The Dzire ZXI however, gets automatic climate control, a feature not offered in the Fiesta Classic SXI while. Besides, the Dzire ZXI is Rs. 16,000 cheaper than the Fiesta Classic ZXI. Hence, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire ZXI is the ‘better value for money’ car than the Fiesta Classic SXI.
But if it’s performance you’re looking for, the Fiesta SXI pips the Dzire ZXI. The Dzire is powered by a 1.2 litre engine that puts out 84 bhp of power, which is no match for the 100-bhp Fiesta.
