Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars of Bollywood and has a loyal fan following across the country. The man has been in the industry for several decades now and has given a number of superhits. Talking about automobiles, he might not be a hardcore enthusiast but still has an impressive collection of wheels in his garage. In his younger days, Salman was often seeing riding in his superbikes and sportscars around Mumbai. Today, let’s take a look at Salman’s car and bike collection to know what the star likes to move out.
Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography LWB
Starting off the list is the latest vehicle bought by Salman Khan. Now Salman has a good collection of SUVs and this one is among the most expensive ones he has ever bought. He bought this Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography long-wheelbase version for his mother Salma Khan. She does not use it much thought and it is Salman who is seen often using the vehicle. The SUV is priced at Rs. 1.87 crores, ex-showroom and is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that generates a maximum of 254 Bhp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 600 Nm at 2,250 rpm.
Audi RS7
Salman Khan has been the ambassador of the four-ringed German carmaker’s cars in the country, though the spot has now been taken by Virat Kohli. Salman launched the Audi RS7 in India in 2014 and took home the red car he showed off at the launch. The Audi RS7 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that cranks out 555bhp and 700Nm of torque. The 2014 Audi RS7 could sprint from 0-100km/h in a brisk 3.9 seconds and had an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h, which could be raised to 305km/h, through the optional dynamic package plus set-up.
Range Rover Vogue
Apart from the recently bought Rangie, Salman also owns a Range Rover Vogue SUV from the British marque Land Rover. He was often seen in the vehicle sitting on the front passenger seat. The Range Rover Sport is offered with two turbo diesel engines, a 3.0-litre V6 and 4.4-litre V8 and also comes with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 petrol option as well.
Previous generation Range Rover
Salman has been a long time SUV lover and also owned this previous generation Range Rover. However, his experiences with the SUV were not what you would call pleasant as he often tweeted about his Range Rover breaking down and the fact that Land Rover was not able to fix the issues surrounding the SUV. The Bhai’s SUV was a PR nightmare for Land Rover and the best-known picture of his issue-laden SUV is it being loaded onto the back of a flatbed truck with Salman using an auto to continue his journey.
Mercedes GL
The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class was the flagship SUV of the brand. The huge SUV can be seen often carrying Salman around. The white with black roof GL-Class is not available in the market now. The SUV is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 258 Bhp and 260 Nm of peak torque.
Mercedes-AMG GLE 43
The Mercedes AMG GLE 43 you see here was gifted to Salman by none other than Shah Rukh Khan. The GLE 43 AMG is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces a maximum power of 362 Bhp and 520 Nm. The power is transferred to the wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Salman once also had the BMW X6, which is a rival of the GLE 43 AMG.
Mercedes S Class
Apart from the various SUV he owns, Salman is also the proud owner of a Mercedes Benz S-Class sedan. Salman was earlier often spotted in this car seater next to the chauffeur up-front. Salman’s S-Class is of the previous W221 generation, and is still one of the most luxurious cars in the world today.
Suzuki Hayabusa
The Suzuki Hayabusa is one of the most iconic superbikes the world has ever seen and has been in production for around 2 decades now. Salman has been the brand ambassador for Suzuki in India and hence he also owns the mighty Busa. The Hayabusa is powered by a 1.3-litre liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine that develops between 173bhp to 197bhp depending on the generation of the bike.
Suzuki Intruder M1800R
The Suzuki Intruder M1800R was the big daddy of cruiser bikes around the world and among the largest production bikes. Salman owns a blue-coloured version of the bike and though it has now been discontinued, it can still teach a few manners to any other cruiser bike. The Suzuki Intruder M1800R draws power from a 1.8-litre V-twin engine that produces 127bhp and 160Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox and a driveshaft.
BMW M5
The BMW M5 series cars offer the best of both worlds. They can act like a hardcore performance car and will also do the duty of school run vehicles when needed. Salman previously owned an E39 M5, which was imported into the country. Later on, Salman replaced his M5 with the Audi RS7 seen above on the list.
BMW X6
The BMW X6 is probably the first car to come out as a crossover between an SUV and a coupe. The concept became a hit though and it became a rather popular car from BMW among Indian buyers. Salman was gifted his X6 by a BMW dealer in Gujarat, most probably for inaugurating the dealership.
Lexus LX
This white Lexus LX series SUV made it to nationwide headlines quite a few years back as it was the same car that was unfortunately involved in the infamous hit and run case. Over the years, Salman has owned quite a few of these big Lexus SUV and this one was among the earlier ones he had. He imported many Lexus SUVs to India since the brand had not entered the country back then.
