Shrey Singhal, a Bollywood singer who is known for his voice that resembles a lot to Atif Aslam. The singer has a passion for four-wheelers and now he has bought himself a new SUV. Shrey is the newest owner of a brand new Lamborghini Urus SUV. The Urus is the best selling vehicle from the Italian manufacturer. They do have other cars such as the Aventador and Huracan but they cannot be driven daily on our bad Indian roads. On the flip side, a SUV like Urus can handle our Indian roads quite well and it does not compensate for performance as well.
Shrey’s Urus is finished in Yellow or as Lamborghini likes to call it “Giallo Auge” which translates to “Yellow Boom”. While the SUV is painted in Yellow, the roof seems like it a carbon fibre one which helps in saving weight and lowers the centre of gravity. This in return helps in better handling and stability. He has also opted for blacked-out wheels with yellow pinstriping.
This is the reason why so many Bollywood celebrities and high profile people are buying the Urus. They do not have to worry about the bad roads because the Urus would be able to take them much better when compared to other luxury cars. Then there is the performance quotient of the Urus. It is one of the fastest SUVs that are currently available in the market.
Then there is the styling of the Urus which is loud and demands attention. Just like any other Lamborghini, it is striking and in your face. You can tell at a first glance, that the Urus is a Lamborghini. Despite being a SUV, it comes with a sloping roofline which helps in reducing the visual bulk from the side profile.
Lamborghini Urus comes with a 4.0-litre V8 that is twin-turbocharged. It produces a max power output of 641 bhp of max power and a peak torque output of 850 Nm. This is the same engine that we have seen on other Volkswagen owned brands. The Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne, Audi RS6 Avant, Audi RS Q8 etc. use the same engine. The power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that is sourced from ZF. The SUV is capable of torque vectoring on the rear axle and it also comes with rear-wheel steering.
This means that the rear wheels of the SUV also turns. The rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels when driving slowly. This effectively reduces the wheelbase and helps in making tight turns in parking spots or around a roundabout. This is very helpful as Urus is a big SUV. It measures 5,112 mm in length and 5,112 mm in width. The rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front ones when you are going fast. This mimics a longer wheelbase and helps in increasing the stability throughout the corners. Also, you can carry more speeds around the corners because of this.
The Lamborghini Urus starts at Rs. 3 Crores ex-showroom. This price is without any options and if the owner decides to do his/her own customizations, the price can shoot up quite a bit.
