Siblings commission a custom Jawa Perak to honour their late Army Lieutenant brother

Sibling’s love is special. Sunil and Deepika commissioned a custom memorial to be created on a Jawa Perak as a tribute to their brother Lt. Sushil Khajuria, Kirti Chakra (P). The memorial job was done by Eimor Customs. The customs shop even named the motorcycle ‘Sushil’ in honour of Lt. Sushil Khajuria and they also customized an open face helmet. This custom Perak will be transferred to a small museum in Jammu so that it can share the story.

“We poured our hearts and souls into creating this incredible narrative of the life of Lt. Sushil Khajuria, Kirti Chakra (P) | ASC, 18 Grenadiers on a Jawa Perak.” said Eimor Customs. Sushil’s last stand was in the Kupwara Operation where he attained martyrdom on Sept 27, 2011 while saving his fellow injured soldiers. The Twitter account of Jawa Motorcycles also shared pictures of the motorcycle.

Anupam Thareja, director of Jawa Motorcycles wrote on Twitter, “A sibling’s love is special. Sunil & his sister Deepika asked @eimorcustoms to create this memorial to a true Indian hero, their brother Lt Sushil Khajuria, Kirti Chakra (P), I ASC. Lt Khajuria’s life, which tragically ended in the Kupwara Operation on Sept 27 2011, has been beautifully told by @eimorcustoms. I can see the emotion poured in & I’m touched that they chose the Jawa Perak. I hear that they are hoping to transport the motorcycle to a small museum in Jammu that the family has created to share the story of their loved one with the world. Hope to visit it someday!”

The Perak is one of the most iconic motorcycles in the Indian market because it is the only bobber that you can buy right now and is relatively affordable. Eimor Customs has pasted the memorials on the entire motorcycle. So, around the instrument cluster, the whole fuel tank, side panel, front and rear mudguard and helmet is covered in memorial pieces that showcase old pictures of Lt. Sushil Khajuria with his family, in his childhood and his story and there are some newspaper clipping too.

Speaking of the Perak, it is currently the flagship of Jawa Motorcycles. The manufacturer did face some supply chain issues due to which the deliveries were late by several months. However, now the things are coming back on track for the manufacturer. The BS6 update of the Perak was a big one because the manufacturer increased the displacement of the engine. The BS6 Jawa Perak is powered by a 343 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 30 bhp of max power and 31 Nm of peak torque.

When compared the BS4 engine was a 293 cc unit that used to produce 27 bhp of max power and 28 Nm of peak torque. Jawa basically bored the old engine to form a new one that makes the Perak more powerful and makes it feel peppier. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Jawa has priced the Perak at Rs. 1.97 lakhs ex-showroom and as of now it does not have any direct competitors. Jawa has two other motorcycles in its line-up. There is the Jawa Standard and the Jawa 42.
