Simple trick to get into a car if you’re locked out with your car keys inside [Video]

Modern cars have keyless entry and many other features that remind driver to take the keys left when they leave the car. Such features were not present in older generation cars and many times, people used to forget the keys inside the car and they only realise it after beinf locked out. Most of the time, people don’t have their spare key and they either have to get help from a locksmith or in worst case scenarios, break window glass. There are many hacks available online for such people who often get locked out from the car. Here we have one such simple trick which is likely to make things easier for such people.

The video has been uploaded by BRIGHT SIDE on their YouTube channel. The video shows several tricks to resolve some of the issues that many car drivers face on a day to day basis. We would only be talking about the lock trick. If you forgot your keys inside the car and are locked outside then instead of breaking the window or getting help from a locksmith trying doing this trick. To implement this trick, you need to have duct tape.

Cut long strips of duct tape and paste it on the window vertically. You have to paste 5-6 strips of duct tape on the window glass with edges connected to each other. This is done in order to increase the grip and strength of the tape. Once that is done, stick at least couple of strips of duct tape diagonally to ensure that the tape remains in the spot. The end of the tapes stuck to window vertically should be joined together to form a single end. This way the person who is trying to open the door can get hold of all the tape ends at once.

Once he or she has a proper hold on the tape ends, he can start pulling the tape down. If the duct tape in stuck to the window glass properly, then with right amount of pressure on it, the person can pull the window glass down. Once the window glass has rolled down slightly, he or she can put his hand through the gap to push the glass further down. Once, the glass has rolled down enough, the person can easily take the keys out of the car.

This is actually a good trick that might come in handy for many. It is at least better than getting the window glass smashed or waiting for a locksmith to come and help get the keys out. Breaking a window glass on the car should always be the last resort as at times getting shattered glass out from the cabin can be a task and might even injure people if not done properly. If you break the glass, then one must directly take the car to a service station and get the window replaced as driving a car with no window is not safe especially in a country like India where car thefts are still an issue.
