Skoda delivers India’s first Octavia RS 245

Skoda India had showcased couple of new models this year at the Auto Expo. One of the car was the latest version of Octavia vRS. Skoda had launched it at the expo and the cars had already reached many dealerships across the country. The deliveries for the same were being delayed because of the ongoing nationwide lockdown due to Corona virus pandemic. Skoda India has now recently delivered their first Octavia RS 245 to customer in Goa. The news was shared by Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service and Marketing, Skoda Auto India on his twitter account.

Skoda India chose to deliver the first RS 245 in Goa because it is the first state in the country to become COVID-19 free. Even though the state is Corona virus free, all the precautionary measure were taken by the dealership while making the delivery. The first vRS delivered is in Race Blue colour and looks beautiful. Other shades available with Octavia RS 245 are Rallye Green, Magic Black, Candy White and Corria Red.

Skoda Octavia RS 245 is imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and only 200 units will be sold in India. This version is the most powerful Octavia vRS sold in India so far. It is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates 245 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It is capable of doing 0-100 kmph sprint in just 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kmph.

In comparison to the regular Octavia, the RS 245 version gets a gloss black treatment at places. Chrome inserts have been completely removed to give it a sporty look. Interiors are different from regular version. It gets a flat bottom steering with RS badging and red stitching on it. The whole cabin gets a black theme with red stitching to give it a sporty appeal.

It even has a vRS mode that alters the power delivery and gear shift depending on the mode. The Skoda Octavia RS 245 is not a cheap car and costs Rs 35.99 lakh, ex-showroom. All the 200 units have already been sold out and Bengaluru with 44 units has most number of bookings. The car is aimed at driving enthusiasts who want a practical car that can be taken to the track on the weekends and help them commute to work on weekdays. It’s spacious enough to seat five adults in comfort while being quick enough to leave almost all traffic barring sportscars and sportsbike behind.
