Skoda Kodaiq, currently the only SUV from the Czechkoslavikian manufacturer is quite popular in the segment. It gets a range of first-in-segment features that makes it unique and popular among adventurous customers. However, a massive starting price tag of Rs 35.36 lakhs, ex-showroom, Mumbai makes it quite expensive and out of reach of many buyers. Every now and then, Skoda brings out the corporate edition of their models, which are much cheaper than the regular models but not everyone can buy them. We have got the exclusive details of the Skoda Kodiaq Corporate Edition, which has been silently launched by the manufacturer and is already available in the showrooms.
The Skoda Kodiaq Corporate Edition is priced at Rs 33 lakh, ex-showroom and the on-road price of the vehicle in Mumbai is Rs 41.02 lakh, making it around Rs 2.6 lakhs more affordable than the entry-level Style variant of the model. However, not everyone can buy the vehicle. The Skoda Corporate Edition vehicles are exclusively sold to the existing Skoda customers and this is the similar case with the Kodiaq too. Only the existing customers will be able to buy the “affordable” Kodiaq.
The Skoda Kodiaq Corporate Edition is based on the entry-level Style Automatic variant. It gets the same engine and transmission and almost similar features. The Kodiaq Corporate Edition gets powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine option that generates a maximum power of 148 Bhp between 3,500 – 4,000 rpm. The torque of the engine peaks at 340 Nm and it peaks between 1,750 – 3,000 rpm. It gets a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. It is the new DQ500 transmission, which is not prone to any of the problems related to the DQ200 transmission. As per the official ARAI figures, the Skoda Kodiaq returns a maximum of 16.3 km/l. The base Style variant gets the AWD system as standard. The Corporate Edition is likely to offer the same. However, it cannot be confirmed yet.
The Corporate Edition SUV also comes loaded with features. It gets 3-zone automatic climate control system, Stone Beige leather upholstery, driving modes, 18-inch alloy wheels, cruise control system, keyless entry, tilt & telescopic steering adjustment, electrically adjustable ORVMs, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls, panoramic sunroof, front and rear foglamps, full-LED headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, 12-way electrically adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, 12-way electrically adjustable co-driver seat, 9 airbags, ABS+EBD and more such features. Skoda offers a standard 4-year warranty with the Kodiaq, which is also applicable on the Corporate Edition of the SUV. This can be extended as per the requirement of the customer.
Earlier this year, Skoda launched the corporate edition of the Superb and the Octavia in the Indian market too. Soon, Skoda is expected to launch all-new SUVs in the Indian market, which will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta and newly launched Kia Seltos,
