Skoda Auto India launched their compact SUV Kushaq in the market recently. The deliveries of the Kushaq SUV has already commenced and now Skoda has achieved the milestone of 10,000 bookings for the Kushaq SUV. Skoda Kushaq SUV competes with cars Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster in the segment. Kushaq is based on VISION IN concept that was showcased to us last year and the SUV has actually helped in the growth of Skoda Auto in Indian market. Skoda also announced that the top-end Style Automatic variants will also be getting 6 airbags and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
These features will be offered with the Style automatic version at an incremental cost of approximately Rs 40,000. The newly added features are now available with the Style automatic variants of both 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI versions. Skoda is offering Kushaq in three trims – Active, Ambition and Style. Active is the base whereas the Style is the top-end version. Price for Skoda Kushaq starts at Rs 10.50 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 17.60 lakh, ex-showroom. Till now, only the Style variant with manual gearbox was offered with 6 airbags.

Skoda Kushaq is based on MQB A0 IN platform which is specifically designed for Indian conditions. It has a design which is inspired from Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq SUV. The car comes with features like LED headlamps, butterfly grille with chrome outline, 17 inch Atlas alloy wheels, functional roof rails, shark fin antenna, roof mounted spoiler and so on.
On the inside, higher variants offer features like touchscreen infotainment screen, electric sunroof, automatic climate control that can be controlled using touch panels on the center console, The seats get dual tone leather upholstery, ventilated seats at the front, wireless phone charging, Skoda’s own 6-speaker system, 6 airbags, 2-spoke steering wheel, cruise control, paddle shifters and so on.
Skoda Kushaq is offered with a 1.0 litre TSI and 1.5 litre TSI engine. The 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine generates 115 Ps and 178 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a manual and a torque converter automatic transmission option. The 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated with a manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox option. Skoda might also introduce a Monte Carlo edition of Kushaq in future.
