Skoda Auto will launch the Laura RS in India on August 31st. The Laura RS is expected to come with the same 1.8 litre TSI engine that the present model is equipped with. The turbo-charged petrol engine makes a decent 160 bhp of maximum power and may be mated to a 5-speed manual.
The top speed of the Laura RS is 223 kmph, that makes it the fastest sedan in its segment. There’s a slim chance that Skoda may also offer the 6-speed automatic DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox), till then let’s feast our eyes on some images of the RS. Also read: Skoda Laura RS launch
Aggressive Front: The Laura RS gets sporty exteriors with ‘RS’ badges on the front grille and on the boot, revealing the high-performance heritage of Skoda’s ‘RS’ models. The design and the performance parameters have taken inspiration directly from the racetrack. Skoda offers additional features like optional xenon headlights with dynamic angle control, fog lights and LED daytime running lights.
Side View: The Laura RS features optional 18” Neptune light alloy wheels while the 17” Zenith alloy wheels come as standard with the present variant. The side profile reveals the car’s length which has been accentuated by a subtle character line.
Sporty Rear: The aggressive chrome tipped double exhaust and aerodynamic spoiler at the rear add to the sporty characteristics of the Laura RS. The rear bumper is wide and gives the car a wide appearance.
Racing inspired Interiors: The interiors of the Laura RS will feature sporty Alcantara/leather seats with lateral support and a RS emblem. Driving enthusiasts will be delighted to see the race-bred alloy pedals on the foot well, rubber grips and stylish grey-trimmed floor mats in the Laura RS.
Side cladding and spoiler: The Laura RS will have a rear spoiler. Note that the ‘Octavia’ badge is not to be confused with the India-specific Octavia because in International markets, Skoda sells the Laura as the next generation Octavia. The Laura RS comes with a sporty side cladding with the RS logo embedded on it.
