Skoda India has launched the Skoda Corporate Edition in the Indian market, which is priced at Rs. 15.49 lakh for the petrol version and Rs. 16.99 lakh for the diesel engine. The entry-level versions of the Skoda Octavia will only be available for the existing Skoda buyers and is only available in Candy White paint scheme.
The Skoda Octavia Corporate Edition is based on the Style variant. It gets the same quad headlamp set-up with LED DRLs at the front. Other features available with the corporate edition Octavia are 16-inch Velorum alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. On the inside, the Octavia Corporate Edition offers stylish beige upholstery and gets dual-tone tone Onyx Ivory dashboard. It also gets a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment display that gets SmartLink connectivity. The infotainment system can be connected through MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to smartphones. The vehicle also gets the dual-zone climate control system with clean air function.
Skoda offers a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 150 PS and a peak torque of 250 Nm. It returns a maximum fuel efficiency of 16.7 km/l and can do 0-100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds. Skoda officially claims that the petrol variant of the vehicle can reach a top speed of 219 km/h. The diesel variants of the Octavia Corporate Edition are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 143 PS and peak torque of 320 Nm. The diesel version of the Octavia can do 0-100 km/h in just 8.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 218 km/h. As per ARAI, the diesel version returns a maximum of 21 km/l.
On the safety front, the Skoda Octavia Corporate Edition gets four airbags, ABS, EBD, Hydraulic Brake Assistance, Anti-Slip Regulation, Motor Speed Regulation, Electronic Differential lock, Electronic Stability Control and Multi-Collision Braking. The Octavia offers a boot space of 590-litres but that can be increased to 1,580-litres by folding the rear seats of the vehicle. The rear seats can also do 60:40 split. The Corporate Edition variant also gets cooled glove box compartment and storage space under the front armrest.
Skoda has also introduced the ‘Sheild Plus’ ownership program that includes motor vehicle insurance for the first three years, 24X7 roadside assistance for the fifth and sixth year and additional warranty for the fifth and sixth year or 1.5 lakh km. The Skoda Octavia takes on the likes of Toyota Corolla Altis, Hyundai Elantra and the newly launched Honda Civic in the Indian market.
In India, Skoda has taken the charge for the Volkswagen Group operations and is currently working on the low-cost derivative of the Volkswagen MQB-A0 platform. Skoda is expected to launch vehicles like Skoda Kamiq in the coming future, which will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta in the Indian market.
