Skoda Octavia most popular in premium mid-size category in India

TNS Automotive’s Total Consumer Satisfaction survey has ranked Skoda Octavia’s petrol version first in the category of ‘Premium mid-size’ vehicles. The car topped the Total Consumer Satisfaction (TCS) Index by bagging a scoring a 100 out of 100 points.

In the process, it edged out competitor models such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Chevrolet Optra Magnum Petrol.

The TCS index score provides a measure of satisfaction and loyalty a given model enjoys with its customers.

The 2008 four-wheeler Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) study conducted by the TNS specialist division, TNS Automotive, represents the responses of more than 7900 new car buyers.

This comprehensive study covers over 45 models with customer inputs taken in the key areas of sales satisfaction, product quality, vehicle performance and design, after sales service, brand image, and cost-of-ownership.

In the meantime, Skoda India has initiated its first service promotional activity for 2009 for its customers across its authorised sales and service network of 60 dealerships in the country.

The Summer Campaign 2009 offers a 11-point checkup for air conditioning system and a 40 points check up for the general health of the vehicle for all Skoda models.

Skoda India said that car owners can avail this service up to April 11, 2009, at a dealership outlet nearby.

The company has said that Skoda India has introduced this campaign to coincide with the vacations in India.

The check points take care of all vital aspects ensuring readiness of the car for the summer season and hassle free journeys.

The company has been betting big on India and has already said that it might launch three new variants of the Fabia in 2009.

On April 8, 2009, Skoda India launched the Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI PD, a diesel version of the Skoda Superb, and the Skoda Superb 3.6 V6 FSI 4×4, a four-wheel drive V6 version, in India.

The price of the Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI PD ranges from Rs. 22,00,697 to Rs Rs. 22,04,943. The price of the Skoda Superb 3.6 V6 FSI 4×4 is between Rs. 25,27,098 and Rs. 25,31,343.

Coinciding with the launch, the company opened its 61st Skoda Auto dealership  with the largest ‘Concept’ showroom in Hosur, Bangalore.
