Every automotive enthusiast in India knows the infamous Skoda Octavia vRS. Usually, such performance cars do not do well in the Indian market but the case with Octavia vRS has been different. You would find a lot of tuned and modified Octavia vRS. In the past, we have covered an Octavia vRS with all-wheel drive and another Octavia vRS that was producing more than 400 bhp. Well, now we have an Octavia vRS with all-wheel drive and it produces 600 bhp!
The video is uploaded on YouTube by The Drivers Hub. These are the same people who uploaded the videos of all-wheel drive and 400 bhp Octavia vRS. The Octavia vRS we see in the video is tuned by Etuners.
The host says that the sedan used to be white but it now has a very dark shade of green. So, most of the time the sedan looks black. The paint job has been done at The Mechanix Automotive. The colour is known as JSR Green. The owner has chosen this colour probably because he wants the Octavia vRS to look like a sleeper.
Then there is carbon finished throughout the exterior. So, the caps of outside rearview mirrors and rear diffuser are finished in carbon. There will also be a front splitter which is yet to be installed. The alloy wheels are sourced from HRE wheels.
The brakes are from TTS and they still measure 340 mm but the calipers now have four pistons instead of two pistons. It is a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 576 Ps of max power and 650 Nm of peak torque.
Changes have been done to the cylinder head to improve air flow and exhaust gases to get out. The manifold and oil sump are now made up of billet aluminium. The turbocharger and intercooler have also been upgraded. The spark plugs are also upgraded and are now from NGK. The gearbox and engine mounts are also new. There are also other bunch of upgrades that the Octavia vRS gets. You can watch the video for more details on the upgrades.
At first glance, the interior looks pretty much the same as the stock vRS. The steering wheel is also now made up of carbon fibre and gets an Alcantara insert. The parking brake is now an electronic unit. There are paddle extenders also.
Then the host takes the Octavia vRS for a drive. The exhaust sound is throaty even at idle. We can hear the turbocharger whistling and pops and crackles from the exhaust. The gearbox has also been upgraded, but the host does not reveal what it is. But it does seem like DQ500 that Volkswagen uses.
The Octavia vRS is also equipped with all-wheel drive. It is front-wheel drive biased but can transfer the power to the rear wheels also. The all-wheel drive becomes essential when you have so much power in a front-wheel drive vehicle because the car is not able to put the power down and the torque steering increases significantly. This vRS can do a quarter mile in under 11 seconds.
