Skoda was supposed to launch the new vRS in the Indian market today. However as the launch was scheduled to take place in Mumbai, it has been postponed to 1st September due to the poor weather conditions that the city is facing.
The vRS will be the fastest and the most powerful Skoda that has been launched in India. Power comes from a 2.0 liter TSI engine making 226 Bhp and 350 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed DSG. India has had the vRS before, in the first generation Octavia and the Laura as well, however the Laura was more of a vRS body kit on the normal vehicle. Bookings for the vRS have already begun and some dealerships even have the vehicle on display. There are a total of 4 colours that are on offer in the vRS, white, blue, red and Steel Grey.
According to the dealers, the vehicle will cost roughly Rs 2 lakh more than the existing Octavia top of the line model, making it very affordable. The vRS will come with a body kit to differentiate it from the normal model. The interior trim has also been updated. The upholstery now has leather and alcantra. The interiors are now in black with red stitching. The car also has carbon fibre trim as opposed to the wood trim the normal vehicle gets. The vehicle will also be fully loaded, which means the sunroof, the ambient lighting, the Apple Carplay/Android Autoo/ Mirrorlink and the Auto park will be on offer.
A lot of enthusiasts have been keenly waiting to hear the price of the new vehicle and sadly, they have to wait two more days now.
