Skoda has launched the much awaited Octavia RS today and it has been priced at Rs. 24.62 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new car has been launched at a very competitive price. The sporty version is about Rs. 4 lakh more expensive than the top-end Octavia petrol model.
The vRS is powered by a 2.0 liter TSI engine that produces 226 Bhp and 350 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed wet clutch DSG. It will be the fastest and the most powerful Skoda that will go on sale in the country. It has an ARAI claimed mileage figure of 14.45 kmpl. In terms of other changes, there are a few. The vRS gets 17″ rims as opposed to the 16″ ones on the stock Octavia. In addition to that, you get the vRS kit, which includes the new bumpers (both front and back), new spoiler, larger brakes with red calipers, all-black interiors with red contrast stitching, vRS flat bottom steering wheel, alcantara sports seats, sporty pedals, engine start/stop, 3-stage programmable ESP with ESP off, carbon fibre accents, LED ambient lighting with 10 colour option, 9.2″ touch screen display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirrorlink, Auto park assist, rear parking camera, 12-way electronically adjustable front seats, LED DRLs, LED headlamps and LED tail lamps.
It will be offered in a total of 4 colour options, Race Blue, Corrida Red, Steel Grey and Candy White. The vehicle will have a ground clearance of 141 mm under normal conditions and 103 mm under fully laden conditions. The car will require 95 RON fuel for it to have optimum performance, similar to what was needed on the Superb V6.
