Skoda Octavia vRS to launch tomorrow. 5 things you didn’t know about it

Petrol power

Skoda introduced the vRS brand in India with the first generation Octavia and it was a vehicle that was much loved by all enthusiasts. It was also the cheapest turbo petrol on sale. The new vRS will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbo petrol engine making 226 Bhp and 350 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed DSG. We will not be getting the diesel model as of now.

Limited

Unlike what was previously believed, the vRS will be limited. The exact numbers are not yet known, but the vehicle will be a limited offering only. Earlier reports suggested that the company would build the vehicle here as a CKD and that means there will be limited number of kits that are imported into the country.

Only 4 colours

The vRS has a wide range of colours internationally, with the green and yellow. India however will only be getting a total of 4 colour options. We will be getting the Steel Grey, the Race Blue, the Red (not Rio) and white. Sadly the more flamboyant colours are not on offer.

Bookings open

Bookings began for the vRS a few weeks back. Since the vehicle is limited, you may want to block your slot if you are interested in getting one soon.

Loaded

The vRS will be fully loaded. It will have all the bells and whistles which are on offer on the current Style+ variant. So you will have the 9.2″ touch screen system with Apple Car play and Android Auto, Mirrorlink, auto parking, key-less go, ambient lighting strips, alcantara sports bucket seats, black leather upholstery with red stitching, multi function vRS steering wheel with paddle shifters and LED headlamps.
