Skoda Rapid 1.0 top-end Monte Carlo trim in a walkaround video

Czech car manufacturer Skoda updated their line up in India to meet the new emission norms and also launched a couple of new products. One of the updated products from Skoda was the Rapid C-segment sedan, which competes with cars like Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento in the segment. It is the entry level offering from the brand and is now available with a powerful 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine. Here we have a walkaround video of the top-end Monte Carlo edition of Rapid that shows the car inside out.

The video has been uploaded by AutoTrend on their youtube channel. The video simply takes us on tour to show what all is different in the Monte Carlo edition in comparison the regular Skoda Rapid. Starting from the front, Monte Carlo edition is a bot more sportier looking version of Rapid in comparison to the regular versions. The chrome or silver inserts on the car have been blacked out to give it an aggressive or bold look.

The headlmaps have been smoked out and houses projector type headlamps, LED DRLs and turn indicators in them. The signature butterfly grille gets a black finish and similarly, the fog lamp at the lower side of the bumper has also been smoked out. Coming to the side profile, the alloy wheels are different from regular version and the ORVMs, window frame and the roof itself has been given a black treatment. The changes at the rear looks quite simple and similar to the regular versions.

Moving inside, the whole cabin gets a black treatment. The fabric seats get a two-tone finish and the cabin is decently equipped with features like touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function,flat bottom steering wheel with red stitching, cooled glove box and so on. Just like many other manufacturers, Skoda has also dumped their diesel engines and now offer cars with petrol engines only.

The Rapid is now offered with a 1.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 110 PS and 175 Nm of torque. It is currently available with a manual transmission only. An automatic variant will be introduced at a later stage. Price for Skoda Rapid starts at Rs 7.49 lakh, ex-showroom and the top-end trim Monte Carlo edition is priced at Rs 11.79 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings are open and deliveries are already on.
