Skoda launched their all-new sedan Slavia in the market recently. The car has already reached dealerships and the delivery for the same has also started. The all-new Skoda Slavia competes with cars like Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the market. Just like many other car manufacturers, Skoda had also dumped their diesel engines and are now offering two turbo petrol engine options with the Slavia. There is a 1.0 litre TSI and a 1.5 litre TSI engine options. Price for the 1.0 litre variant starts at Rs 10.69 lakh, ex-showroom and the price for 1.5 variant starts at Rs 16.19 lakh, ex-showroom. Skoda has now released a new TVC for the 1.5 litre TSI variant which shows how different both the engines are.
The video has been shared by Skoda India on their YouTube channel. The video shows how different both the engine options available with the new Slavia actually are. For those who like to do city runs and want better fuel efficiency, there is the 1.0 litre TSI petrol engine that generates 115 Ps and 178 Nm of peak torque. The engine is powerful and at the same time returns good fuel efficiency.

The Slavia 1.5 TSI on the other hand is a mix of both. It has ample power and also returns decent fuel efficiency. It is powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine option is available with both 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG transmission. The one seen in the video is a 6-speed manual version. The Skoda Slavia 1.5 TSI can do 0-100 kmph in just 8.8 seconds. Slavia is the most powerful sedan in the segment.
The Slavia 1.5 is equipped with a Cylinder Deactivation feature which shuts down two of the cylinders when the car is cruising at a constant speed or when the engine is not under any pressure. The whole process is seamless and the occupants won’t even notice it until the notification pops up on the full digital instrument cluster. Skoda also offers Auto Start Stop feature for increasing the overall fuel efficiency. Skoda Slavia is based on MQB A0 IN platform. This is the same platform used in Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun SUV. The upcoming Volkswagen Virtus will also use the same platform.
The car offers signature butterfly grille, Crystalline LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, dual tone alloy wheels for top-end variant, all LED tail lamps and a sloping roof design. Skoda Slavia is the widest, longest and tallest car in the segment which translates into better space for occupants inside. It also offers 179 mm of ground clearance which is highest in the segment. The car gets features like a floating type touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charger, two-spoke steering wheel with multi-function buttons. ventilated seats, automatic climate control, electric sunroof, dual tone leather upholstery and so on. The cabin in the Skoda Slavia looks premium but, some of the elements might remind you of Kushaq and Taigun. Skoda Slavia is available in Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Crystal Blue, Tornado Red and Candy White shades.
