Skoda Slavia: New video shows interior & exterior features of the upcoming sedan

Skoda unveiled their Slavia sedan for Indian market last year. The premium sedan will replace Skoda Rapid and will compete with the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Volkswagen Vento as well. The Skoda Slavia is the brand’s second product under India 2.0 Strategy. Skoda has already started accepting bookings of Slavia and the production for this sedan has already commenced. Skoda is expected to launch the car in February and the deliveries are expected to start in March 2022. Before the official launch, Skoda has launched several videos showing the exterior and interior features of this sedan. Skoda has now released a new video for the upcoming sedan.

The video has been shared by Skoda India on their YouTube channel. The upcoming Skoda Slavia is based on the MQB-A0 IN platform. This platform has been specifically developed for the India. This is the same platform that is already being used in Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.

The video shows signature butterfly front grille and chrome garnishes around it. The car gets projector LED headlights and there is an integrated LED DRL in the cluster as well. The bumper gets a sharp design like other Skoda cars, the fog lamps are positioned on the bumper. Coming to the side profile, the car gets machine cut alloy wheels and at the rear, it gets crystalline split LED tail lamps. Skoda badging is seen on the tail gate and the Slavia branding is on the bottom left hand corner of the tail gate.

Higher variant of the car comes with features like keyless entry, push button start/stop, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control, fully digital instrument cluster, electric sunroof, ventilated seats for front passengers and so on. The cabin of the Skoda Slavia follows a dual tone theme. The upper part of the dashboard gets black colour while the lower half gets a beige shade which gives the cabin a premium feel. There are gloss black or piano black inserts running from one end to the other end of the dashboard.

The car also offers features like automatic climate control, Type C USB ports, wireless phone charging pad, touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The car gets perforated dual tone upholstery on the seats and the driver armrest comes with ample amount of storage under it. Rear passengers also get AC vents and USB ports. The car also comes with rear parking sensors and rear parking camera with static guidelines.

Like other Skoda cars in the market, Slavia will also be offered with petrol engine options only. There will be two engine options available with Slavia. The lower variants will be powered by a 1.0 litre, three cylinder turbo petrol engine that will generate 115 Ps and 178 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. The next engine on offer is the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine that generates 150 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be offered with  a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG transmission.
