Skoda Auto India had showcased the Vision IN concept SUV for the Indian market earlier this year at the Auto Expo. Production version of the Vision IN SUV will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster in the segment. Skoda has now announced that they are all set to launch the upcoming Vision IN concept based SUV and will be launching it the market next year. Skoda will launch this SUV internationally in the first quarter of 2021 and the SUV will come to Indian market in the second quarter.
Skoda Vision IN concept based SUV will be based on MQB AO platform. It is specifically developed for Indian market and will the use of large amount of local content. Over 90 percent of the components used in the Vision IN based SUV will be locally sourced. This will help them keep the costs down and price it very competitively. In terms of design, The upcoming Skoda Vision IN SUV is likely to get a sharp and bold looking design like other Skoda cars.

There is a possibility that the design might resemble with bigger and expensive SUVs like Kodiaq and Karoq. The front of the Vision IN concept gets all LED headlamp, illuminated signature butterfly grille, sporty looking 19-inch alloy wheels, beautifully designed LED tail lamps and so on. On the inside, the concept version gets all the features that are normally found in modern day cars and SUVs. There is a huge touchscreen infotainment screen, kalamkari inspired dashboard, multi function steering wheel and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Just like other concept models that we have seen in the past, there is no guarantee that all these design elements and features will be seen in the production version as well. Some of the changes that are expected are, the 19 inch alloys might be replaced with a smaller size wheel. Similarly, the interior of the production version will also be different from the concept.
In terms of engine, the Vision IN will be available with petrol engine options only. Skoda is expected to offer two turbocharged petrol engine options with this SUV. One of them will be a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder turbocharged unit that is available in Rapid, Polo and Vento and the other engine option will be a 1.5 litre turbocharged unit that is already available with volkswagen T-Roc and Skoda Karoq.
