Self-driving car platform, Zoomcar has announced new model called ZAP. Customers can now subscribe to the Zoomcar self-driven vehicles by paying a monthly fee and keep the vehicle for personal use for the period. This is the first time a car rental company is offering such a service in India.
The new model is an extension of existing ZAP (Zoomcar Associate Program) that was launched last year. Through the ZAP, individuals can list their own vehicles on the Zoomcar website on a profit- sharing bases. The new ZAP subscribe is a leasing program but is a lot more flexible. Individuals can subscribe cars starting at Rs. 18,999 per month. The minimum tenure of leasing is 6 months while users can also opt for 12 months, 18 months and 24 months plan.
Zoomcar also offers the users to save on the subscription fee by allowing the customers to share their car with other Zoomcar customers when the car is not in use. There is no down payment to get the car initially. Zoomcar also promises to deliver the vehicle within 48 hours of making the payment. Zoomcar also says that there is no additional charges for the maintenance of the vehicle and the monthly rental includes all such charges.
There is a limited liability of up to Rs. 10,000 if a subscriber gets involved in an accident. The cars do not have a restriction on the usage. The users can keep it for unlimited mileage.
