India is now the home of many premium car makers’ factories. The growing demand and cost effective facilities have allowed such companies to make cars right here in India. Many manufacturers also export the vehicles from India. Let’s know more about such super luxury cars that are born in India.

Maybach S500

The Maybach is a brand owned by Mercedes-Benz. The Maybach S500 super saloon is made at the Mercedes-Benz plant at Chakan near Pune. The car costs Rs. 1.67 crore in India and it drips with luxury.

The car comes powered by a V8 Bi-Turbo 5-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 523 Bhp. The highly exclusive sedan gets advanced features like air suspensions, Nappa leather upholstery, 24-speaker surround sound system, night vision, seat massager and much more.

BMW 7-Series

BMW has a manufacturing facility at India’s Detroit – Chennai. The diesel versions of the flagship sedan of BMW is made in India. The car is priced starting at Rs. 1.11 crore ex-showroom offers a host of luxury features. The 7-Series is based on CLAR platform which BMW calls Carbon Core technology.

The body of the car is made up from a combination of steel, aluminum and Carbon Fiber reinforced plastic that allowed the car to be lightweight. The car gets a mix of wooden and leather trim and gets Nappa leather wrapped seats. The diesel version of the car is powered by a 6-cylinder motor with a twin-stage turbocharger. Peak power is rated at 265 Bhp.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The German luxury brand started producing the S-Class in India after the increasing demand for the car. The S-Class is made at Chakan factory is the flagship sedan of the Mercedes-Benz sedan family.

The car is priced at Rs. 1.36 crore and comes with advanced features like WLAN hotspot, eucalyptus wood inserts, reclining rear seat with extended support for feet, automatic parking, 360 degrees surround camera and more.

Jaguar XJ

The Jaguar XJ is the flagship Jaguar sedan and it is made in the company’s Pune plant that was inaugurated in 2011. The car costs close to Rs. 1 crore and both petrol and diesel models are produced locally.

The luxury car is filled with creature comfort features like seat massager, automatic blinds, leather seat, 10.2-inch HD screens and foldable business table in the rear. The car can be also customized with a choice of interior colors. XJ is powered by 3.0-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines in India.

Mercedes-Benz GLS

The stylish luxury SUV is based on the S-Class sedan. The car is made alongside the S-Class at the Pune plant and costs Rs. 80.38 lakhs ex-showroom. It is the top-of-the-line SUV from Mercedes-Benz and was launched in India earlier this year soon after the global launch.

The GLS comes with electronic AWD system, lane assist, blind spot assist, pedestrian detection, intelligent all-LED headlamps, air suspensions, panoramic sunroof and many more luxury features.
