3 Porsche Cars Crashed In A Single Week In India
Over the last few years, supercars have become more common on Indian roads than they used to be. However, the increased number of supercars does not equate to an increase in the number of credible drivers. These cars, as we all know, are very powerful, and not everyone is capable of handling these powerful machines. So, this is the reason we see a number of these supercars crash. Recently, another video of a crashed Porsche 911 supercar worth Rs 2.2 crore has been shared online.
This video of the crashed Porsche 911 Carrera T has come courtesy of Reddit. According to the post, this particular Porsche crashed in Kondhali, Maharashtra. This place is located around 50 km away from Nagpur. As per the reports, the driver of this particular Porsche lost control of it, following which it drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
Damage to this Porsche
From the video, it can be noted that the front left portion of the car has been entirely wrecked. It collided with the tree with such intense force that the entire fender, wheel, brake assembly, and other parts tore off. The damage is so extensive that the entire sub-frame of this car has been mangled.
The video also shows that the front left fender was on the ground near the rear end of the car. What is interesting is that the entire rear section and the front right section, including the bonnet of the car, are intact. The lights, including the headlights, indicators, and rear-connected LED taillights, were all working.
Following the exterior, the video also shows the interior of the car. It can be observed that all of the airbags deployed on time. Most likely, the driver and the passenger have survived. We can note that the front airbags, curtain airbags, and knee airbags were all open.
Cause of the accident
From the video, it can be noted that the Porsche driver must have lost control on the turn. The person recording the video shows the blind turn where this accident took place. Most likely, the driver lost control at the turn as this car has a rear-mounted engine and a rear-wheel-drive configuration. Because of this combination, he could not have controlled the rear portion of the car, which led to this accident.
Porsche 911 Carrera T
This particular Porsche 911 Carrera T, according to reports, is owned by SV Wines Private Limited from Nagpur, Maharashtra. Currently, this supercar is priced at Rs 2.24 crore on the road. As for its powerplant, it comes equipped with a 3.0-litre flat-six engine. It makes a maximum power of 380 bhp and 450 Nm of torque.
Three Porsche accidents in a week
This particular 911 Carrera T’s accident is the third one that has taken place in India this week. The most horrific of these recent accidents is the one that involved a Porsche Taycan electric sedan in Pune. This Pune Porsche accident has become a countrywide issue as it involved a 17.5-year-old boy killing two young IT professionals.
The 17.5-year-old kid named Vedant Agarwal is the son of the prominent builder Vishal Agarwal, owner of Brahma Realty. This kid reportedly was drunk behind the steering wheel of his Rs 2 crore Porsche. The boy, after celebrating his 12th result with his friends, drove his Porsche Taycan on a narrow road in Pune.
As per the reports, his speed reached in excess of 150 kmph, with some reports also stating that it was even as high as 200 kmph. The CCTV footage showed that he then lost control of his car and crashed into two young IT professionals – a boy and a girl. Both of these people were declared dead on the spot.
Following the crash, the kid was beaten by the police authorities. However, he was released in 15 hours on bail with some conditions. These conditions included him writing a 300-word essay on road safety and going to rehab for his drinking addiction. The father of this kid, Vishal Agarwal, has been arrested from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
Kerala Porsche accident
Apart from these two incidents, recently another case from Kerala has come forward. In this particular accident, a red Porsche 911 was seen getting involved in a crash with a biker and pillion on a turn. It was noted that the biker and pillion, after spotting the 911 on a turn, could not control the bike.
The video shows that the bike then slipped and crashed with the Porsche on the turn. Unfortunately, this crash has also resulted in the death of a person. Reports state that the bike rider was driving on the wrong side, and the Porsche driver is not at fault in this case. However, official statements have not been released.
